The Tourism and Business Initiative of Eastern Arkansas is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to improve the quality of life of individuals in Eastern Arkansas, specifically Lee and St. Francis counties, through job creation, job training, and small business development concentrating on tourism and hospitality.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER - EAST ARKANSAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Saturday January 31, 2009 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
The Business Development Center, a program of the Southern Good Faith Fund, in partnership with East Arkansas Community College and the East Arkansas Enterprise Community, Inc., will host a minority business certification training course. The course will be held at EACC in the Resource Learning Center Computer Lab L-112. Due to limited space, business owners must pre-register by calling 870-816-1120 or 870-630-2005.
GRANT CYCLE - ST. FRANCIS COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The St. Francis Community Foundation opened a new grant cycle on January 10 and will be accepting grant applications from 501(c)3 organizations until March 10, 2009. The applications are available at the St. Francis County Museum, the Forrest City Area Chamber of Commerce and online at www.arcf.org.

The seventh annual Eastern Arkansas Regional Career and Job Expo has been scheduled for March 18. The Expo is sponsored each year by the Education Committee of the Forrest City Area Chamber of Commerce and Arkansas Workforce Centers. It will take place at the Mustang Arena, 467 Victoria (behind Forrest City High School). The deadline to reserve booth space is March 6. The purpose of the Expo is to inform both high school students and the general public of potential careers, employment and training opportunities available in eastern Arkansas.
